León Felipe's work celebrated in Hebrew language by seven Jewish poets
Poets Margalit Matitiahu, Adina Mor Hyyim, Gad Keynar, Varda
Genosar, Haim Nagid, Asher Reich y Liliana Dabby celebrated León Felipe's poem "Auswitch" (1965) dedicated to
"all Jews, my friends, my brothers". Writer and composer Asin Meskin also came to sing some of Felipe's texts translated into Hebrew and musicalized by him for this occasion. During the event a plate was inaugurated at the School of Education at University of Salamanca local Campus. León Felipe (1884-1968), born in Tábara, Zamora, was an exile in Mexico from the Spanish Civil War. His works enjoy broad recognition in Spanish literature. The city of Zamora owns his manuscripts collection, which is the seed for a Museum dedicated to the writer.
